Jenna,
What a grand penultimate book for the Aru Shah series。 I feel like Chokshi has really grown fully into the story and its characters with this book, and I enjoyed it immensely。 We figure out where Aru had gone at the end of Tree of Wishes, but Aru can't seem to remember what she wished for。 Without spoiling too much, we meet some great new characters on the way to the golden city of Lanka to gain the assistance of Kubera, the god of wealth, in the fight against the Sleeper。 In typical Aru Shah st What a grand penultimate book for the Aru Shah series。 I feel like Chokshi has really grown fully into the story and its characters with this book, and I enjoyed it immensely。 We figure out where Aru had gone at the end of Tree of Wishes, but Aru can't seem to remember what she wished for。 Without spoiling too much, we meet some great new characters on the way to the golden city of Lanka to gain the assistance of Kubera, the god of wealth, in the fight against the Sleeper。 In typical Aru Shah style, the book is funny, well-paced, and heartfelt。 The Pandavas continue to wrestle with hard things, like jealousy, what it means to be a family, betrayal, and loss。 The end will have you on the edge of your seat, courtesy of a Dicksinson poem, and I cannot wait for the final installment of this series! 。。。more

Another great book in the Pandava series! The continued emphasis on good versus evil not being so black and white is still so compelling and is a theme that will give readers of all ages a lot to think about。 Really love the social justice theme running throughout, too。 And that ending!!!! AH! Can't believe I have to wait ANOTHER year for the next one! I really love those Potatoes。 Another great book in the Pandava series! Deborah,
Thanks to Netgalley for providing me with this arc。Book three ends on a cliffhanger。 We find that the Sleeper has been hiding someone, but this someone is willing to travel with Aru and the Pandavas to try to gain an army to defeat the Sleeper。 Their adventures take them to many new and dangerous places, and Aru learns that no one should be defined in absolutes。 Funny, sad, and adventurous, Aru Shah and the City of Gold is another great part of the series。Middle grade

If I was on fire, and this series was just slightly patched, I would hand this series all my water。 That’s how much I love it。I adore this book。 I adore Aru with all my heart, as much as anyone can love a character。 Nobody except maybe Percy Jackson himself holds a candle to how much this character means to me。 It means the world that there’s this Indian, clumsy, loud and yet brave, clever and wonderful girl out here, one of the Pandavas and defending the world best she can。 This book remains th If I was on fire, and this series was just slightly patched, I would hand this series all my water。 That’s how much I love it。I adore this book。 I adore Aru with all my heart, as much as anyone can love a character。 Nobody except maybe Percy Jackson himself holds a candle to how much this character means to me。 It means the world that there’s this Indian, clumsy, loud and yet brave, clever and wonderful girl out here, one of the Pandavas and defending the world best she can。 This book remains the best in the series。 Honestly, my five star rating should speak for itself。 My heart would jump out of my soul if I kept talking so I’ll stop here。 Aru Shah is one of the best series I’ve ever read in my life, and this book is the best in the series。 I have no doubt that the fifth book, and the end of this series will be better than this。P。S。 I love all the parallels with this and Percy Jackson!! Both having ✨something✨ in the fourth book that I can’t say without spoilers。 Both drooling when they sleep。 Both being clever as hell, and while none of them are any sort of book smart they’re the brains and wits of the operation。 They’re both clumsy, brave-hearted kids, with the determination that rivals God himself。 My stubborn, clumsy, awkward babies, I’ll always love them ♥️♥️♥️ 。。。more

The Aru Shah/Pandava series continues to be a delight! Previously the series was advertised as a "quartet", but by the end of this one it seems clear it will be a quintet at least。 Normally I dislike when series continue indefinitely, but I have to admit I'm looking forward to more of this one! I received a copy of this book from Rick Riordan Presents and Netgalley。The Pandava series is so much fun and the latest entry, Aru Shah and the City of Gold is a ball to read。The character developments that lead to the events in this book are a joy to explore further and the wild adventures will put a smile on your face。Also? That cliffhanger?!

I AM SO EXCITED FOR THIS BOOK TO COME OUT!!! I have been following the Aru Shah series since the first book came out and I am literally counting down the days till it is released。 As an Indian in the United States, I could not relate to my favorite characters in that way。 That changed with the Aru Shah series。 I absolutely loved everything about each book in this series。 I would recommend this series to everyone who loves adventure, fantasy, and humor。 Aru Shah and the City of Gold I AM SO EXCITED FOR THIS BOOK TO COME OUT!!! I didn't expect to enjoy this series so much。 Can't wait for this book to come out! Ravana is on the front cover and it seems like it will take place in Lanka, so I am sure this book is going to take some wild turns。 With the way Chokshi wrote Surpanakha's story, it will be nice to see how she redeems Ravana as well。A lot of people want to see Karna in this book, and guess what? I think Karna is already in the story。。。 as Kara! It kind of makes sense, as a missing sister and that sort of thing, I didn't expect to enjoy this series so much。 Can't wait for this book to come out! It kind of makes sense, as a missing sister and that sort of thing, and I fail to see Kara's purpose elsewhere。 Of course, I could be completely wrong, but that's my guess。For that matter, forget Karna。 I want a Duryodhana in the story and not a redeemed one。 Reformed Shakuni Mama was a total let down, I want that evil, insecure, power-hungry, and misunderstood Duryodhana。 I've always felt a little bad for Duryodhana, he was under a bad influence, and always felt over-shadowed by the Pandavas。 Still, that's no excuse for what he did。 Wait。。。。 what if the Sleeper was Duryodhana? I think he is, after all, his name is Suyodhana and he had some evil prophecy about him too! Why did I not realize this before? It's a little weird with the ages and stuff, but I think that's right!Hopefully, there will be a Khumbhakarna in this book too! That would be really funny, him being one of the few people that can eat more than Brynne。 Honestly, I can't wait! 。。。more

I can't tell you how excited I am for this。 We get to see all the Pandava sisters again and meet Kara, who claims to be the Sleeper's daughter。 I am hoping for some awesome, sweet and shippy Shahcharya (Aru x Aiden) moments。 I want to see Aru and the main protagonists grow and mature even more。 I want to see Aiden's and Aru's face when they realize that the Pandava Draupadi loved (romantically) more than the others was Arjuna。 I am excited to see Ravana come to life (as shown in the cover)。 I'm I can't tell you how excited I am for this。 We get to see all the Pandava sisters again and meet Kara, who claims to be the Sleeper's daughter。 I am hoping for some awesome, sweet and shippy Shahcharya (Aru x Aiden) moments。 I want to see Aru and the main protagonists grow and mature even more。 I want to see Aiden's and Aru's face when they realize that the Pandava Draupadi loved (romantically) more than the others was Arjuna。 I am excited to see Ravana come to life (as shown in the cover)。 I'm excited to see which side Aru picks。 If you can't tell, I am excited for every single aspect of this book。 。。。more
